Homogenized glass is essentially tempered glass that has undergone high-temperature homogenization treatment. Its primary function is to reduce the probability of spontaneous breakage in tempered glass right from the source—this is precisely the core motivation behind our factory’s production of homogenized glass.

The production process consists of two steps. First, the float glass substrate undergoes conventional high-temperature tempering to give it the high impact resistance characteristic of tempered glass, and after breakage, it shatters into smooth, small particles.

Subsequently, the tempered glass is sent into a homogenizing furnace and baked continuously at a constant temperature of 280℃. This process promotes the premature completion of the phase transformation of nickel sulfide impurities within the glass, relieving internal stresses and preventing these impurities from expanding due to temperature changes during subsequent use, thereby avoiding spontaneous glass breakage.

After homogenization treatment, the self-explosion rate of glass can be reduced to below 0.01%, significantly lower than the 3% typically found in ordinary tempered glass. During processing, it is essential to precisely control the temperature and baking time of the homogenization furnace; temperatures that are too high can cause glass deformation, while temperatures that are too low will fail to achieve the desired homogenization effect.

The homogenized glass has a light transmittance of ≥90% and retains all the characteristics of tempered glass, making it suitable for various applications with high safety requirements. Each finished product comes with a homogenization treatment test report that documents the processing parameters and test results.
