The antique-style mirrors produced by our factory differ from ordinary mirrors primarily in their silver-plating process and hand-applied aging treatment—these are not merely surface stains.

During production, float glass substrates are first selected as the base material. A vacuum silver-plating process is then used to deposit a silver film onto the glass surface. Compared to conventional aluminum mirrors, vacuum-silver-plated mirrors offer clearer imaging with no distortion and significantly enhanced oxidation resistance, effectively preventing darkening and film detachment in humid environments.

After silver plating is completed, the pieces undergo a manual aging process to restore their vintage texture. Common aging effects include oxidized spots, verdigris patterns, and subtle scratches—all of which are precisely controlled by hand. As a result, the aged textures on each antique-style mirror are never exactly identical.

After the aging treatment, a protective coating is applied to the back of the mirror surface to prevent oxidation of the silver film. The edges are sealed with a glaze to prevent moisture from seeping in.

During the processing, it is necessary to control the uniformity of the silver plating thickness to avoid issues such as blurred imaging and ghosting. In the manual aging process, care must be taken to apply appropriate pressure to prevent scratching the glass surface. The finished products will undergo inspection to verify both the imaging quality and the uniformity of the aging effect, ensuring compliance with production standards.
