Our factory has undertaken the production of glass components for numerous overseas curtain wall projects. By taking into account the varying climates and standard requirements of different overseas regions, we have identified the key principles for producing glass that is specifically tailored to overseas curtain walls—this approach goes beyond simply replicating domestic curtain wall glass standards.

When selecting curtain wall glass for overseas projects, the local climate should be the primary consideration: In tropical regions, emphasis should be placed on thermal insulation and UV resistance, with Low-E insulated laminated glass being the preferred choice. In areas prone to typhoons and heavy rainfall, wind pressure resistance and waterproof performance must be enhanced; accordingly, the glass thickness and number of composite layers should be increased.

In cold regions, it’s important to focus on thermal insulation performance; therefore, the thickness of the hollow layer can be appropriately increased. Secondly, curtain wall glass used overseas must comply with local building standards. Different countries have varying requirements for glass in terms of wind-pressure resistance ratings, fire-resistance levels, and environmental standards. Before production, it’s essential to verify local regulations. For instance, some European and American countries impose strict limits on glass’s light transmittance and reflectance to prevent light pollution.

During production, it is essential to precisely control the dimensional tolerances of the glass. Overseas curtain walls often feature large-scale unitized designs; excessive deviations in glass dimensions can compromise the accuracy of jointing.

Meanwhile, glass packaging needs to be optimized based on local sea freight and transportation conditions to prevent damage during transit. For some overseas orders, locally recognized inspection reports must also be provided to ensure product compliance and suitability.
