Key Construction Points and Acceptance Criteria for Fire-Resistant Glass Partitions in Factory Buildings

Fire-resistant glass partitions in factory buildings are critical components for delineating fire compartments and preventing the spread of smoke and flames. Their construction and acceptance must strictly comply with GB 15763.1-2025, balancing structural stability with fire safety compliance to ensure successful inspection and acceptance.

Construction Key Points: 1. Ensure material compliance by selecting Class A, B, or C fire-resistant glass that matches the fire-resistance rating of the building (Class A ≥ 1.5 hours; Class C ≥ 0.5 hours), paired with a steel fire-rated frame. The glass must bear 3C certification and a corresponding test report, and on-site cutting or hole-making is strictly prohibited.

2. Frame installation shall use galvanized steel profiles, with expansion bolts spaced no more than 600 mm apart; all joints shall be fully welded and corrosion-protected, and 5–8 mm expansion joints shall be provided between the frame and the wall and ceiling.

  1. Fire-stopping and gap-filling using Class A1 fire-resistant rock wool, with fire-sealant applied on the exterior; fire-rated sealant is used in shaft openings to ensure a smoke-tight passage.

4. Glass installation: install fire-resistant rubber pads at the bottom, maintain an appropriate gap between the glass and the frame, apply sealant and allow it to cure for concealed-frame glazing, and secure exposed-frame glazing with fire-resistant pressure strips.

5. Hardware accessories: Use dedicated fire-rated hinges and door closers to ensure automatic closure in the event of a fire.

Acceptance Criteria:

1. Document review and verification: Examine 3C certification documents, test reports, construction drawings, and other relevant materials to ensure they are complete and compliant.

2. Appearance and structure: the frame shall be securely installed with compliance to verticality requirements; sealant joints shall be fully filled and free of air bubbles; glass shall be free of breakage and stress-induced cracks.

3. Fire-resistance performance: the sealing is tight and free of gaps; the fire-expanding strip expands to meet the required standards when exposed to fire; and the partitioning into fire compartments is appropriately designed.

4. Overall inspection: fire-resistance integrity and smoke-control performance comply with design requirements and meet the fire safety acceptance standards for industrial buildings.
