Is electric heated glass efficient for winter heating? Can it replace underfloor heating or air conditioning systems?

Electric heated glass is a product in which a conductive film or nanometallic material is plated onto the middle layer of the glass, achieving radiant heating through electrification. Compared to traditional heating methods, it heats evenly, responds quickly, and is draft-free. It is increasingly used in office buildings, display spaces, commercial storefronts, and high-end residential windows.

But can it really replace underfloor heating or air conditioning?

In terms of heating efficiency, the heating surface of electric heated glass can reach around 30℃ within 10-20 minutes, suitable for supplemental or local heating, such as thermal compensation for large windows or local heating for areas with cold drafts.

However, to completely replace traditional underfloor heating or central air conditioning systems and achieve whole-house temperature control, higher energy consumption costs and power configuration requirements are needed. Currently, it is mostly used for auxiliary heating or aesthetic integration.

Electric heated glass is indeed efficient for winter heating, especially suitable as a solution combining local heating and space design. However, to completely replace underfloor heating or air conditioning, a comprehensive assessment of building structure, power load, and energy-saving strategies is required. For commercial display spaces, enclosed sunrooms, and building lobby windows, it is a modern energy-saving option that combines functionality and aesthetics.
