In public commercial spaces such as office buildings, shopping malls, and subway stations, fire-rated glass is not only an important part of safety design but also a mandatory requirement for fire safety inspections. So the question is:

How long can fire-rated glass withstand high temperatures to successfully pass inspection?

 Fire-rated glass (15)

According to national standards (such as GB 15763.1 and GB 12955) and building code requirements, fire-rated glass is categorized by fire resistance time:

- 30 minutes (0.5 hours)

- 60 minutes (1 hour)

- 90 minutes (1.5 hours)

- 120 minutes (2 hours)

- 180 minutes (3 hours)

 Fire-rated glass (15)

Office buildings and shopping malls commonly use composite fire-rated glass with a fire resistance of 60 to 90 minutes, used in areas such as evacuation routes, stairwell partitions, and fire-rated compartments.

During inspections, not only the glass's heat resistance is assessed, but also the entire system (including the frame, fire-resistant sealant, and seals) must be certified by an authorized testing institution.

Additionally, fire-rated glass is divided into two types:

- Non-insulating type (such as single-pane cesium potassium fire-rated glass) – withstands high temperatures but does not insulate;

- Insulating type (multi-layer composite) – can simultaneously fireproof, insulate, and prevent smoke, making it more suitable for high-density areas.
